I'm ecstatic that this post was made, giving me an opportunity to explain why the idea of Global Climate Change (not Global Warming) is so hard to grasp.

As a human, it's hard to imagine things that we have not sensed, such as a million or billion years, or the size of an atom (6.02 x 10^23 atoms in about 56 grams of iron.) These ridiculously large and small numbers could never be able to be encompassed and understood by a mere human brain. However, we can easily understand and grasp the concept of a decade, or 56 grams of iron. What has this got to do with Global Climate Change?

Well, while the temperatures of some days will be extraordinarily low, the temperatures of other days will be extraordinarily high. This is the concept known as fluctuation. While we're sitting outside freezing our butts off in July in our T-Shirts, it's extremely easy to observe that it's colder than it regularly is. However, how cold is it on the other side of the world? Can the human mind possibly experience all the temperatures in the world and then later reference them? Of course not! This is where the concept of trends apply.

Trends take into account fluctuation, the extraordinarily low and high temperatures. If we look at the cookie sales of a local Girl Scout troop, it might be lower since the new delicious cookie came out. However, two towns over, it might be much higher. If we incorporate all of the sales of all Girl Scout troops, we find the overall trend in sales since the new delicious cookie came out.

Now, let's apply this to temperatures. Scientists who find evidence for Global Climate Change don't go out on their porch and say, “Dang, it's hot.” or “Dang, it's chilly.” These scientists look at over all trends in temperature over the past millennia. Take note that these are A LOT of temperatures, from ALL OVER the world. The number is almost even comparable to the amount of atoms in 56 grams of iron!

This is just one of many ways scientists have found evidence of Global Climate Change, Bing has mentioned another method, glacier volume (another huge number, might I add.)

Compelling views, both of you.

Empathy is key here, as Sonik Fury commendably shows. Homosexuals have the right to act in however manner they wish without the worry of fellow men judging them because of their sexuality. However, the manner in which they act will be, according to the bible, ultimately judged. This is not our duty as fellow men.

When it comes to the argument that the “gay community” has no right to redefine the word marriage, it almost sounds as if they're stealing the right of marriage. This is also something that we should consider empathetically. Is it our right to judge homosexuals on what they call their lifelong promise of togetherness? It seems to me that if the “gay community” considers their bond a “marriage,” they should be able to. Of course, we could then, privately of course, consider this “marriage” void of all holiness if it contradicted our beliefs. We fellow men aren't the ones who ultimately judge them or the manner in which they act.

Finally, by a legal standpoint, two people living together should have any rights that any other two people living together have, without any discrimination. If it were any other way, it would be unjust, unconstitutional and would contradict the Declaration of Independance.

Intellectually inspiring. I especially enjoyed franklin's words about Rooseveltianism and Catholicism, very well versed.

However, I became confused when communism was equated with atheism. I can not bring myself to see that the belief that divinity and miracles do not exist, that there is logic and reason behind all actions*(my view of Atheism), is the same as the belief that one man's labor can be forcibly taken to allow another man to remain idle (my view of Communism.)

Can you please enlighten me on the process that brought these two values together?

*all actions, of course, being reactions from the one and only true and original action that created something from nothing, a concept that a human cannot grasp.

Very interesting, I commend you on the finding of this video.

However, I can't help but feel that I'm watching the History Channel's coverage of the predictions of Nostradamus, similar to the end of the world scare of 2012. The section that leads me to believe that the theory is far-fetched is the quotes being pulled from different versions of Hebrew (i.e. Aramaic) and from different books of the bible.

I believe that if you look hard enough, you will find “evidence” to prove whatever you want (and then post it on YouTube to gain infamy.) The ease that this “evidence” was found with does frighten me, but not to the point that I believe that Barack Obama is the anti-christ. However, if his presidency does bring about the fall of the Western World (with direct affects from the Eastern World, inevitably), I will not be shocked. In this case, I suppose that those who believe in the bible (Westerners) would consider the man debatably responsible* for the downfall of their self-assumed supremacy to be the Anti-Christ.

Consider me unconvinced until something of importance happens. Until then, I'll be reading Nostradamus while trying to prove that gravity does, in fact, not exist.

*responsibility for any tragedy seems to always fall on the president, especially for the news sources of the opposing party, most likely because the opposing party wishes to win the following election. (i.e. Stock Market failure, hurricane Katrina, Vietnam)

I find it strange that at these ruins, there is such a vast variety of common animals carved into the stones, while there is only one dinosaur, the Stegosaurus. What of the mighty and infamous Tyrannosaurus Rex and the cunning Velociraptor. Surely, had man coexisted with dinosaurs, they would include such dangerous carnivores in their carvings. Even if they were only including docile herbivores in these carvings, they would include more than just the Stegosaurus. Or, are we assuming that man coexisted with only one type of dinosaur in a world filled with such wonder and variety in the domains and kingdoms of life? I am thoroughly unconvinced. What would've kept this nation from finding one fossil of a stegosaurus? Are any of the other carved animals unidentifiable? Are any of the other carved animals extinct?

Until I see a quality, well-thought-out, intuitive and thorough article, I will remained convinced that there was a gap in time between dinosaurs and man. There are just too many possibilities that are left unexplained in this juvenile piece of work. I am appalled that it shares its web site address with such a valued piece of literature to the world. If anyone can find me an article that will enlighten me, please do so.

Thought provoking, perhaps. But very, very ill-construed. This forum should be called “Interesting Carving Could Lead to the Inference That Perhaps (By A Longshot) Man and Dinosaurs Coexisted”, not “Amazing Evidence that Man and Dinosaurs Coexisted.” You should truly sharpen up on your scientific query process and identify the differences between 'evidence' and 'inference.'
