I am in Texas.  I got my “Government Verified Identity Document” notarized by using a 20 year old notarized copy of my birth certificate.  It works in Texas.

 

However, when I sent a request for additional copies of my birth certificate to Michigan and enclosed a copy of the “Government Verified Identity Document” notarized in Texas, the photo ID was rejected and additional copies of the birth certificate were not provided.

 

In their reply, they listed “acceptable”  forms of photo ID almost all of which were proof of federal franchises.
