Stated simply, the United States has gone broke, because for many, many decades, men in positions of political, civil, and business influence and leadership, lacked genuine character and integrity. And this lack of character has trickled down to the masses.
Setting a poor example all around, on how to act, behave, and live.
Regardless of one's milieu, be it as government civil servant, U.S. government attorney, Congressmen, Senator, President, etc., or as a CEO or business owner, or average American worker, all leadership begins and ends with one's personal character, or lack thereof.
The level of U.S. public and private debt is directly proportional to the degree of personal character lacking in the civil servants employed by the US Government, and the lack of character demonstrated by society at large.
An individual man is potentially trustworthy.
But men in general, never are. Case in point, simply look at the 535 U.S. Senators and Congressmen. One good, honest, man, Ron Paul, in the entire lot.
I submit that there is an inverse proportionality that exists between personal character and U.S. public and private debt level.
As the personal character of U.S. Government civilian employees declines, the U.S. public debt level rises.

I wholeheartedly and strongly disagree.
If I learned anything in the past 15 years, it is that neither the USG, the corrupt IRS, or the more corrupt Federal Reserve Board, do anything unless it is to enlarge their sphere of power, wealth, and influence. And when they take very public actions, it is ALWAYS cloaked in lies and deceit and their public positions regarding their motivation for acting, or in the Bear Stearns case, rescuing, are never truthful.

Many rich, connected, powerful people stood to get fired and or sued, had Bear Stearns went belly up. That is the reality. It must be nice having a gold Rolodex to call Uncle Ben when business goes awry.
When the little guy overextends himself financially, he has to go get a 2nd job to pay his bills. Or he tightens his belt and reduces his discretionary spending.
When Julie's Ice Cream Store overextends herself and her financials, and takes imprudent business risks in the competitive marketplace, and her creditors come 'a-calling' and they foreclose on her house and seize her business assets, and Julie ends up taking a job at the local Kinkos, where is the Federal Reserve System and your esteemed Mr. Bernanke?
Make no mistake.
Uncle Ben and the FRS was doing the covert bidding on behalf of other Money Center Banks, and other well-heeled, connected individuals, who, like Bear Stearns, were greedy and got involved in financial derivatives, currency risk arbitrage, and and other schemes that soured and stood themselves to lose billions of dollars.
When these same Wall Street tycoons pay themselves $260 million in one year, all is honky doory and they buy another mansion in the Hamptons.
But when they mess up and make a series of bad business decisions, they run and hide behind the Federal Reserve, and craft the story that if Bear Stearns fails it could be fatal to other firms. That is a bunch of bovine scatology of the smelliest kind.
Who died and made Uncle Ben the apologist for Bear Stearn's liquidity problems?
If there had to be an asset sale, guys like Donald Trump and other bottom feeders would step in and buy assets at a lower price. And then flip them and make a profit and invest that money somewhere else. It all balances out in the end.
The Federal Reserve is protecting the wealth of the guilty folks who made poor business decisions. What is capitalistic about that? NOTHING!!!
Let Bear Stearns fail. It would be a lesson to others how not to conduct business.
As an entity, since 1913, the Federal Reserve has stolen the wealth of Americans, worked behind the scenes to steal the People's gold, ostensibly because of “hoarding” ( i.e prudent saving), and simply lies, lies, lies and lies some more.
And I never trust a liar.

All the times I used the U.S. Stat @ Large I never noticed what you posted.
So you are saying when Congress passes a law for Guam or a pacific atoll, it gets codified in the U.S. Statutes at Large? That is strange, but I will check that out.
Next time I am in the Law Library I will check out the U.S. Statutes at Large.

Are you suggesting that the Private Laws passed by Congress, and all Acts of Congress that are locally applicable only in the District of Columbia, are codified in the US Statutes at Large?
Uhh, I respect your posts and your obvious extensive knowledge on law and taxes, but on this I shall disagree until I see proof.
Understand that the US Congress also legislates for the District of Columbia, and you seem to be saying that these Municipal Codes are codified in the US Code. On this I disagree.
the D.C. laws passed by Congress are in a separate D.C. Code book, not in the Statutes at large and NOT the US Code.
Same thing goes when Congress Passes legislation affecting US possessions and territories.
Not all Public Laws are in fact Positive Laws.

Would not the hospital's taking of the newborn's DNA without the prior consent of the birth parents, constitute theft and a taking of property without due process of law and without just compensation?
I have not read the so-called law yet, but I am pretty sure it only applies inside the federal zone and to U.S. citizens and aliens.
Lets see if Americans who are intellectually lazy and numb from watching all of them reality TV shows, get angry about this new USG venture.

Layed, if you initially took out a bank loan to get the mortgage, and the you passed papers at settlement, you should reread the papers, because I will bet you will see the initials HUD, FHLBB, and other initials of purely federal corporations that have interjected themselves into the home buying process, and have granted you one or more “benefits”.
And you likely signed all that stuff agreeing, among other things, that you are a “U.S. person”.
And if such is true, and you consumed said federal benefits, and you declared that you are a “U.S.” person, then you are in a real bind.
And this is where the feds presume that they have jurisdiction over you.
Don't feel bad, tens of millions of Americans have made these same mistakes.
Good luck trying to extricate yourself from their dishonest presumptions.

Author 5, I concur with your assertion that these cases are likely Trojan Horses, instituted by persons who themselves have been coopted and or paid by the IRS to commit fraud on the court, all in a concerted effort to create bad case law.
However, what is noteworthy about the cases cited, is that in every instance, the person filed a form 1040 or 1040EZ, in none of the cases was the person a nonresident alien and they did not file Form 1040NR.
This fact, I believe, is extremely important and is worth noting and pointing out to the readers of this Forum who are contemplating filing a Form 4852 to correct their false W2 filed by their private sector employer.
Hendrickson approach is misplaced and he still, at this late stage, appears not to grasp the basics of jurisdiction and the Non-Resident Non-Person Position.
A Form 1040 is only to be used by resident aliens, statutory U.S. citizens, those folks who make an election under IRC 6013 ( g ) and ( h ), and/or anyone who is engaged in the conduct of a trade or business within the U.S. Government or who have gross income from a federal United States source or activity, like from a corporation whose corporate charter was granted by the District of Columbia.
I have never posted over at Lost Horizons, but I know some of our readers have, so there is a small chance we can enlighten Hendrickson’s posse. But I am not going to waste my time over there.
Generally, they are a smart group at L.H., but it appears that they lack the ability to think independently of Hendrickson, and have only parroted what he appears to suggest in his book. Thus, when King Petey Hendrickson errs and makes a mistake, none of his so-called sycophants and adherents knows well enough to correct him.

Please, you will be doing America a HUGE favor, if you stay put in Australia because the last thing we American Nationals want or need, is yet one more person who insists they want to be sovereign, but do not really want to be, just like your post said. I just want to clarify what Sonik said.
Not all so-called laws passed by Congress are codified in the Statutes at Large.
There are positive laws and there are special laws.
Generally, Positive Laws apply to the 50 Union states and are known as Public Laws. and they are identified with a P.L. 109- ####.
However, sometimes a P.L. is crafted to make it appear as if it applies to everyone, but when you read it, usually there is a section for definitions and you can see that they defined the term “United States” to mean the District of Columbia, or some other territory of the federal zone. It deceptively takes the form
…the United States include the States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Guam.”
But the “States” mean only the named federal States, not the 50 Union states.
Go and read the 8 page REAL ID Act, and you will see that it is ONLY law for the federal zone. However, the USA Media and lawmakers intentionally want to deceive the People, and make everyone think it is an unfunded mandate pushed on all 50 Union states, and they are ALL wrong.

The Office of Law Revision Counsel is a small group of crafty, dishonest lawyers employed in the U.S. House of Representatives, and it is their sole job to disingenuously draft proposed laws in consultation with applicable House and Senate Committees.
You can easily google “Office of Law Revision Counsel” and get their website. read it in its entirety.
These are the same guys who are expert at using “words of art” such as “United States” at 26 USC 7701 ( a ) ( 9 ), in a deliberate effort to obfuscate and confuse the American People.
All that said, the US Code is divided into positive law titles and special law titles. Go to 1 USC 204 or read the About U.S. Code web page at http://www.gpo.access.gov.
The special law titles, are only prima facie evidence of the law, that is to say that they are not really laws. In other words, it is presumed to be the law unless one rebuts the presumption by citing the Statutes at Large.
The Internal Revenue Code was repealed in Feb 1939 and the current Internal Revenue Code is simply a codification of the repealed Code. Thus, the IRC is special law, it is not positive law.
Regulations are of 3 types, and only 1 type of regulation has the force and effect of law, and even then, that is only the case if the related positive law code title, was not itself repealed.
An implementing Regulation for a repealed Code title, DOES NOT have the force and effect of law, because the corresponding statute upon which the regulation is based, is itself, not law.
A repealed law is NOT LAW!!
Implementing Regulations are required to be published in the Federal Register, and if they are not, then the under lying statute is a nullity and has no legal effect or force except upon US Government employees or those who express a desire to be treated as such.

A further clarification is in order.
I read the REAL ID Act in its entirety (it is only about 8 pages) and the term United States means only the federal United States, i.e. the District of Columbia.
Why is it that no commentators state this fact??
So, once again, the Office of Law Revision Counsel, in a conspiracy with the US Congress has resorted to deception and disingenuousness, to openly deceive the 50 Union states and the American People, into thinking it applies to everyone, and in one respect it does, it applies to everyone who wishes to gain entrance into a federal facility or where the USG has jurisdiction, such as interstate travel on an airplane.
One will still be able to gain access to a federal building such as a federal courthouse, without having newly minted REAL ID Drivers License, so long as they have either a USA Passport or a USA Military ID — which I think qualifies as a REAL ID.

I said 10 plus years ago, that the USG, State, and local government were the main cause of ID theft.
After reading and studying lots of philosophy back in the day, I long ago concluded that the USG is not the protector and beneficent organization I assumed it was while growing up.
Now that I am more seasoned and experienced in the way modern society functions, I realize that a Citizenry that is consumed with rectifying their legal woes and financial issues that result from the theft of their Identities, is far, far less capable of opposing the US Government's corrupt policies and practices.
It is mentally and emotionally draining having to fight with banks, credit bureaus, and businesses, and collection agencies, while trying to convince them of ID theft.
This same logic applies to the scary rise in autism. Which now occurs in 1 birth out of every 150 in America. Parents with autistic children are bound to the local, state, and federal governments in ways you can only imagine. Again, they are far, far, less able and willing to challenge the status quo or to oppose the corrupt practices of the US Government.
And despite what the so-called experts allege, I still think it is outrageous to lace vaccinations with mercury!!! Drs. still give infants 4, 5, or 6 vaccinations at one time, thus creating vaccination overload.
I don't know the cause of Alzheimer's disease, but it is likely rooted in the evilness that comes from the US Government. Recall that the USG injected folks with syphilis and worse, as part of experiments. And also exposed men to radiation on purpose, and actually released radioactive material aerially in California.
So I find it ironic that the mass of society is fast becoming chained down on two distinct generational levels:
1. toddlers who have autism combined with over prescribing of psychotropic drugs like Ritalin, to millions of American children who “fidget” and act rambunctious.
and,
2. And having to care for and worry about elderly relatives and friend suffering from Alzheimers.
Finally, lets not kid ourselves. The USG knew for decades that cigarette smoking caused cancer. Yet did next to nothing to warn anyone, and when they finally did, millions of folks were hooked.
Why?
Because folks who smoke for 40 years, statistically do not live long enough to collect Social Security. Or if they do begin to collect, they die many years earlier and end up collecting far, far less social security than they otherwise might have received had they lived longer.
Since the USG invaded Afghanistan, the poppy and heroin production has climbed to ALL TIME RECORD levels. Hmmmm. More poppy is exported, leading to more heroin on American streets, and all this is taking place right under the noses (no pun intended) of the valiant US Army.
How can this be?? Coincidence?
We are living in historic times folks.
The corrupt US Congress, led by the nose by the more corrupt USG Executive Branch, is attacking America from within and few People have the will or the personal courage to do anything about it.
