The Power of Resistance
Daniel 3:28 Blessed . . . who put their trust in Him, violating the king’s command”
A female, Moslem law student asked a panel the following question: “With billions of Moslems in the world, how can you win an ideological war with military weapons?” Behind this question was another question: “With so many wonderful, peaceful Moslems in the world, how YOU AMERICANS portray all Moslems as bad because of the actions of a few jihadists?”
Brigitte Gabriel took the question answering, “There are 1.2 billion Moslems in the world today. Of course not all of them are radicals. The majority of them are peaceful people. The radicals are estimated to be between 15-25 percent . . . that is, 300 million Moslems. That leaves 75 percent as peaceful people. It is the radicals that kill and behead people . . . peaceful Moslems are irrelevant.” She went on to say that most of the German people during the Nazi regime were peaceful; most of the Chinese people under Mao Tse Tung were peaceful people; most of the Japanese were peaceful people . . . but these peaceful people were irrelevant. Likewise, 75% of the peaceful Moslem are irrelevant.

Do you understand what Brigitte Gabriel was saying? She was saying that all the wonderful, sweet, compliant goodie-two-shoes people of the world are irrelevant as agents of change in political revolutions.
Hearing Brigitte, I immediately thought the three Hebrews in Daniel 3 who refused to bow down to the image Nebuchadnezzar erected for his own honor. There were many of God’s people in the crowd that day that when they heard the sound of the trumpet, they hit the ground in obeisance. Only Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego challenged the king’s order. Only the three Hebrews were relevant. The peaceful, compliant, law-abiding folks in the crowd were totally, completely irrelevant as agents of political change.
Likewise, we are living in an age of revolution where liberalism has taken control U.S. policy. All kinds of evil legislation is pouring forth out of Washington D.C. and state legislatures–legislation opposed to decency and the Christian Law-order. Compliant, lollipop Christians are irrelevant.
The text above says the three Hebrews put their trust in God and violated the king’s commandment; that is, their faith required them to disobey idolatrous, overreaching acts of the State. Does your Christian faith ever require you to resist the State?
Is there any law passed by Congress or the State that demands disobedience in obedience to Christ? That is, are you aware of any law passed by Congress or a State legislature that is so ridiculous and so overreaching that is requires maximum resistance by Christians?
If there is, you’d never know it by the state of modern Christianity. Most Christians today are totally irrelevant because they will not disobey the government in obedience to God.
Experience the power of resistance. Karol Jackowski, a nun, wrote: “Before You die, give some serious thought to vowing holy disobedience whenever necessary. Discerning and knowing why one would choose to disobey is by far the most serious and mysterious part of listening to the voice of God.”

"Two things I request of You (Deprive me not before I die): Remove falsehood and lies far from me; Give me neither poverty nor riches— Feed me with the food allotted to me; Lest I be full and deny You, And say, “Who is the Lord?” Or lest I be poor and steal, And profane the name of my God."
