Will it take fire and brimstone from heaven before God gets through to us? Our sex-saturated culture is reaping a heavy price for its rebellion to God. Most vows of “till death do us part” are broken on the rocks of divorce. Since 1970, unwed teen pregnancies have increased 87% and teen abortions have risen 67%. A third of pregnancies now end in abortion. Fifteen million Americans, including three million teenagers, will contract an STD this year. A majority of the sexually active women now have the human papilloma virus, which is responsible for 16,000 new cases of cervical cancers and 5,000 deaths annually. These statistics, which come from the Centers for Disease Control, are foreboding. We’ve spurned the laws of nature to our peril. In response to this looming medical and social crisis, our government has spent three billion dollars to promote contraception and “safe sex” since 1970. It’s been a three billion dollar failure! One large study proved a correlation between increased condom usage and higher out-of-wedlock birthrates among teens. Parents would be shocked to learn what the sex educators are teaching their kids! Planned Parenthood, the largest baby-killing organization in America, and the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the U.S. (SIECUS) are the chief distributors of condoms, contraceptives, and “morning after” abortifacent pills to public school teens. According to their “safe sex” curriculum, which has been adopted by the Ohio Dept. of Health and the Dept. of Education, oral sex, mutual masturbation, and “outercourse” are “low risk” behaviors. “Mature teen sex” is “responsible sex.” Abortion and homosexuality are presented as valid choices, and youth are encouraged to explore their sexual orientation. No reference is made to marriage. Our nation’s remedy for the crisis has been to prescribe more of the disease! Brace for my coup de grace, America: “Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled, but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge” (Hebrews 13:4). God designed sex between one man and one woman for life, and premarital sex, extramarital lust, adultery, and homosexuality are violations of the law of nature and nature’s God. Even if you luckily escape the diseases rampant among the sexually deviant, you’ll not escape on Judgment Day. There’s no such thing as “safe sin.” Thankfully, God’s a merciful Savior, but His mercy is reserved for the repentant.
