Tuscany, in a style of acrimonius reproof, which sounds
almost like personal resentment (Novell. tit. ix. p. 37).
The law of Majorian which punished obstinate widows was soon
afterwards repealed by his successor Severus (Novell. Sever.
tit. i. p. 37).
