Parcens innocentiae Aviti, is the compassionate but
contemptuous language of Victor Tunnunensis (in Chron. apud
Scaliger Euseb.). In another place he calls him vir totius
simplicitatis. This commendation is more humble, but it is
more solid and sincere, than the praises of Sidonius. .
