Olympiodorus (apud Photium, p. 180 [p. 57, ed. Bekk.]), uses an expression Ancient Greek which would denote a strict and friendly alliance, and render Stilicho still more criminal. The paulisper retentus, deinde interfectus, of Orosius [p. 570], is sufficiently odious.
