EDITORIAL: This is a very one-sided story. Taxation is slavery to those who don’t want government services. The Democrats want to engage in an orgy of spending to bribe voters and then make us all into debt slaves to pay off an endless mountain of public debt. If slavery is wrong in childbirth, it ought to be just as wrong when instituted against those such as us who are forced to pay for government spending that they don’t want and don’t need. Our ministry calls all members to NOT associate with the government or procure any of their “civil services” as we define “civil services” in Section 4.6 of our Disclaimer and shouldn’t be compelled to pay for them.

This article also completely ignores the Biblical mandate in the Bible found in Prov. 31:

“Open your mouth for the speechless,
In the cause of all who are appointed to die.
Open your mouth, judge righteously,
And plead the cause of the poor and needy.”

[Prov. 31:8-9; Bible, NKJV]

Aborted fetuses are certainly “appointed to die” and also speechless. Why won’t the democrats speak up for them, who are as innocent as they come?

Yes, women have a choice to not have babies, and that choice is made BEFORE conception by not being promiscuous, by marrying, and by having a loving husband to help them sponsor the new life. A failure to make that choice to marry, to be a responsible parent and instead to be a promiscuous fornicator SHOULD have negative consequences INTENDED by God. Those who don’t want to take responsibility for the consequences of their BAD choices and actions, who want to abuse their power as a voter or jurist to AVOID that responsibility, are abusing the apparatus of the state and the law to protect and reward BAD behavior, and thus, destroying society in the process.

The main difference between Republicans and Democrats seems to be that everything the Democrats do is directed at avoiding personal responsibility from their own choices and actions by abusing law to guarantee equality of OUTCOME rather than equality of OPPORTUNITY. We know where that leads:

Margaret Atwood has compared forced childbirth to “slavery” in a new essay published online on Saturday (7 May).

In the excerpt from The Handmaid’s Tale author’s new book of essays, Burning Questions, Atwood writes that “women who cannot make their own decisions about whether or not to have babies are enslaved because the state claims ownership of their bodies and the right to dictate the use to which their bodies must be put”.

Atwood’s essay was published as an extract in The Guardian on Saturday 7 May, amid the outrage over the US Supreme Court likely overturning Roe v Wade, a landmark 1973 ruling that guarantees the constitutional right to abortion care in the country.

On Monday (2 May), an initial draft majority opinion was leaked, suggesting that the court will overturn the decision, which legalised abortion nationwide.

The news has been strongly criticised by politicians, activists and members of the public on social media, with a number of high-profile arts figures also weighing in.

In her essay, Atwood likens forced birth to men’s compulsory enrolment for service in the armed forces because both present “risk to the individual’s life” but notes “an army conscript is at least provided with food, clothing, and lodging.”

In fact, “even criminals in prisons have a right to those things,” the Canadian author argues, adding that the state must pay to support expecting mothers and their children, if it is “mandating enforced child birth”.

“But I doubt that the state is willing to go so far as to provide the needed resources,” the Booker Prize winner continued, adding: “Instead, it just wants to reinforce the usual cheap trick: force women to have babies, and then make them pay. And pay. And pay.

Celebrities from across the worlds of film, TV, music and literature have reacted in outrage to the bombshell leak about the US Supreme Court’s apparent decision to overturn Roe v Wade.

Family Guy’s Seth MacFarlane pointed out on Twitter that the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade would bring America closer to the dystopian state in Atwood’s most well-known novel.

He wrote: “As the staggeringly partisan, right wing-dominated SCOTUS nudges America closer to Handmaid’s Tale status, the importance of voting in EVERY election becomes even more obvious. One would hope today’s news erases any further delusions that ‘both parties are pretty much the same.’”

Questlove also referenced The Handmaid’s Tale in relation to the debate over abortions in the US, sharing an image from its TV adaptation on Twitter and commenting: “Welp. We got through the House Of Cards era….Now we bout to visit the Handmaids Tale era. Y’all better get on the ball w these midterms smh.”
